Big Yoga YogaMy name is E.B. Ferdig. I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years – and been teaching for more than 7 of those years.I am dedicated to “the BIG Yoga,” which has become my lifestyle and spiritual path. Big Yoga refers to the 8-limbed path (Ashtanga), which includes many ways to embrace life and greater happiness. Just one of these ways is physical yoga postures. I believe that everyone deserves to have access to Yoga, regardless of perceived barriers. I trained to be a teacher through independent study, and through the teacher-training program at Samarya Center. My teachers there are Molly Lannon Kenny and Stephanie Sisson. I am a Yoga Alliance certified teacher (500-hour level). |
As a yoga therapist, I help clients with a variety of particular issues, including chronic pain, stroke recovery, post-partum fitness, depression/anxiety, ADD/ADHD, sensory integration disorders, eating disorders and body image issues.
As a mother of a 5 and an 8-year old, I am dedicated to creating balance between work and home. Through the experience of having children, I have learned strategies about mindfulness, patience and acceptance. I endeavor to incorporate these strategies into my teachings and my life.
A former fund-raiser for the Columbia River tribes, I understand the pressures and demands of working in an office environment. I am dedicated to helping people understand how to live with a more healthy amount of stress.
When I am unable to teach a class, substitutes will be teachers trained by the Samarya Center of Seattle, or Paul Grilley. This will ensure a compassionate approach to you and your individual yoga practice.
